MTN investigators are encouraged to develop and submit manuscripts and abstracts based on MTN’s clinical trials portfolio. The MTN Manuscript Review Committee (MRC) was established to facilitate this process as well as to ensure that all publications and presentations representing the network are held to the highest standards of scientific quality and integrity. As such, all manuscripts, abstracts, meeting posters and oral presentations that report on MTN research must be reviewed and approved by the MRC prior to being submitted for publication or presentation. The MRC ensures that such work:
Reflects accurate reporting of the design, conduct and analysis of studies.
Protects the confidentiality of medical, personal and product information in accordance with U.S. laws and regulations and meets the requirements of any applicable clinical trials agreements (CTAs).
Complies with all National Institutes of Health (NIH) policies, including the NIH Public Access Policy.
Acknowledges the MTN and NIH’s support for the work and references the applicable NIH cooperative agreement number(s) (unless a journal’s policy precludes such acknowledgement).
More information about the MRC, publication requirements, authorship guidelines and the overall review process can be found in the MTN Manual of Operational Procedures, Section 20, The Microbicide Trials Network Publication Policy.
